Electro, Dutch House and Progressive House are among the genres that Martin is particularly fond of. GRX, by the way, is the second stage name under which the young Dutchman is known.

Internationally, he was able to celebrate his breakthrough to the fullest already in 2013 and conquer the charts in many European nations with the single “Animals”. His decision to become an internationally successful DJ in the future, the little Martin had already made at the tender age of 8 years and has since then worked continuously towards this goal. Accordingly, he also attended a special school that deals in depth with the subject of music production and learned his craft from scratch. This hard work has already paid off. Even though the DJ has only been involved in the music scene at a high level since 2013, he has already been able to secure a number of coveted awards.

These include, for example, 3 Dance Music Awards, which Martin Garrix won all in 2013 and was thus not only awarded as “Newcomer of the Year”. Also at the NRJ DJ Awards in 2014, the smart Martin could clear 2 awards and let the competition look old in the truest sense of the word. Since Martin is not even 20 years old, even his critics predict a long career for him. The Dutchman also picked up another award at the YouTube Music Awards and the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2015. At the DJ Awards in 2015, he was nominated in the category “Best International DJ,” which shows that his colleagues in the music business take him seriously.

Martin Garrix has even been able to work with pop greats such as Usher, Khalid, Macklemore, Dua Lipa and Dean Lewis. By the way, the DJ is no longer working with Spinnin’ Records, his first label, but founded his own label “STMPD-Records” in 2016. This label is subordinate to Epic Records and Sony Music.
